Fougére comes from the french word for fern, so it typically evokes green thoughts and is quite crisp with hay like notes. Our recipe consists of a proprietary blend of lavender, oakmoss, hay absolute, tonka, patchouli, vetiver, clary sage, geranium, hemlock, and spruce. Common modifieres that are used with this are amber, pine, fir, ylang-ylang, cedar, musk, and leather.
To simplify your custom perfume making experience we have divided our gallery of scents into the 3 categories of traditional perfumery. There are Base Notes, Mid Notes, and Top Notes. Each of these evaporates at a different rate, and choosing a variety of each will help you create a well balanced olfactory bouquet. Base notes will last the longest and form a strong platform to build your fragrance around. Mid notes (Heart notes) last for slightly less time, but have a higher sillage so will be more noticeable on first application. Top notes are the most volatile and will be immediately noticeable upon application, but will fade into the base/mid notes over time.
